Week one Task 1 - Websites

A website is a collection of webpages, images, videos or other digital assets that is hosted on one or several web servers, usually accessible via the internet or mobile phones so if you arn't near a computer you can still access the internet any time you like if your phone allows you to.

A web page is a document, typically written in HTML, that is almost always accessible via HTTP, a protocol that transfers information from the web server to display in the user's web browser. The pages of websites can usually be accessed from a common root URL called the homepage, and usually reside on the same physical server.

Many people use websites for different reasons, it maybe for personal and communication reasons like the networking sites like Facebook, myspace and bebo which are very popular amongst young people i know i use them all the time but i tend to just to stick with facebook this is the main one that i check all the time. Thay are used for business reasons to promote businesses. People use websites for online shopping rather than going out to the shops to look they browse on the websites and order. My friend often orders her clothes and food shopping off websites like Tesco. Many websites are used a s a way of advertising and promoting products to help sell them.

I dont to tend to browse the web much i just stick with the websites i always look on like facebook, and clothes shop websites the only time i do tend to browse on websites is for work purposes when i am looking for information on a particular topic i will use google and time in what i am searching for then look at all the different websites it brings up.
